3. Install the dowels 1.
4. Install the lower unit to the upper case,
and then tighten the bolts 2 to the speci-
fied torque.

Lower case mounting bolt 2:
37 N·m (3.7 kgf·m, 27.3 ft·lb)
TIP:
Make sure that the cooling water pipe 3 is
inserted securely into the rubber seal 4.
5. Turn the adjusting nut 5 to connect the
shift rods 6 and 7, and then tighten the
locknut 8.

Drive shaft and lower case
TIP:
The adjusting nut 5 must be screwed in 8.0
mm (0.31 in) a or more.
6. Install a new special washer 9, the
anode 0, and the trim tab A.
TIP:
Install the trim tab in the original position.
7. Install the spacer B propeller C, collar
D, and washer E. Place a block of wood
between the anti-cavitation plate and the
propeller to keep the propeller from turn-
ing, and then tighten the propeller nut F
to the specified torque.
