VoIP End Devices

This section describes the connection of different VoIP end devices to the Ethernet port.
The COMpact 5000 has four VoIP channels for internal IP telephony by default (CPU module)
and can be extended to eight VoIP channels by insertion of a COMpact 4DSP module. By
means of an activation in the Upgrade-Center (for a fee), the PBX can be extended by another
set of eight VoIP channels to a total of 16 VoIP channels (see chapter Important Information >
Product Details > Basic Assembly and Extensions).
Warning: Touching voltage-carrying conductors or telephone connections
can cause life-threatening electric shocks.

Connecting a VoIP End Device to the Ethernet Port

For VoIP data communication in combination with the transmission of limited
amounts of data, a data transmission rate in the LAN of 10 Mbps is sufficient
