Lesson 3 – Introduction to the Software
timing, and vector setups have to be defined. Only pins to be used
for digital capture, need additional settings.
The analog modules require special parameters which define the
settings of impedance, filters, amplifiers, attenuators, and so on,
and instruct the sequencer how to perform the test.
An AWG also needs a digital pattern in its waveform memory that
describes the waveform to be generated. Often, this pattern is
simply called waveform.
The relays on an analog module can be set to make various
connections of input and output pins to the modules. These
connections are defined in the routing setup.
Once the analog modules have been set up, they wait for a trigger
signal to start operation.
Overview of the Tools
SmarTest provides five special tools for mixed-signal testing.
The tools are used to create test setups and custom test methods,
to view test results, and also to perform test debugging.
All setup data is stored in setup files which get loaded to the
tester hardware prior to test execution. With the tools for mixed-
signal testing, you define the contents of these setup files.
