Lesson 3 – Setting Up the Digital Capturing
NOTE
Digital Capture Settings
The Sequential or Selective Capture Mode cannot be selected here.
The mode is determined by the selected capture vector label. If this
vector label uses a wave table that contains selective capture actions
('C' or 'D'), the Selective Mode is activated, otherwise, the Sequential
Mode.
Setting up a Vector Variable
After the capturing of data is complete, the captured data
(samples) needs to be uploaded to the workstation and be
analyzed as required. Captured output codes of an ADC can, for
example, be analyzed for ADC linearity, ADC distortion with
standard testfunctions provided by SmarTest.
A vector variable allows you to filter out the data of interest from
all the captured and downloaded data.
This allows you to skip certain samples out of a series of samples,
or to only work with the captured data of some of the capture
pins.
The Vector Editor provides the menu D
