Lesson 3 – Setting Up the Digital Capturing
3-2

Setup for Digital Capture

You can set up the pin configuration, levels, timing, and vectors for
Digital Capture with the standard setup tools of SmarTest. The
setup for Digital Capture requires some additional settings, like
the definition of the pins you want the data to be captured from,
and the setup of a vector variable which defines how to extract
(filter) the data of interest from the captured data.
This lesson focuses on the special setup steps for digital capturing.
General setup tasks that are not specific to digital capturing and
use standard functionality of the setup tools are not explained in
equal detail.
The normal sequence for the setup of Digital Capture is:

Pins for Digital Capture
The Agilent 93000 SOC Series uses normal digital pins (also called
digital channels) for data capturing. No additional capture
hardware is required. This gives you the flexibility to perform data
capturing at any available digital pin of the test system.
Any digital pin you define as an o or i/o pin in the pin
configuration can later on be used for capturing of DUT output.
Pins to be used for data capturing need no further specifications
in the pin configuration.
Which of the configured digital pins will later on be used as
capture pins is defined in the capture settings, which are part of
the vector label setup for digital capture.
