Setting trigger

If you have to perform measurements according to certain signal conditions, you can
use a trigger. A trigger responds to certain events. When a trigger source other than
Free, the Spectrum Analyzer starts to sweep only when the selected trigger conditions
are met. The trigger can be generated either externally or internally.

Sweep functions
Definition
Enabled when you select Zero Span. Tap to set Period Time
using the on-screen keyboard.
Access: Menu > Sweep > Period Time
Enabled when you select Zero Span. Tap to switch Period
Type to Manual or Standard.
Access: Menu > Sweep > Period Type Manual/Standard
Enabled when you select Zero Span. Tap to select Standard
Signal from: GSM, WCDMA, LTE, EV-DO, TD-SCDMA, or
WiMAX.
Access: Menu > Sweep > Standard Signal
describes each function.
Trigger functions
Description
Select Free to start a new sweep immediately after the cur-
rent sweep ends. This is the default state of the Spectrum
Analyzer module.
Access: Menu > Trigger > Free
Select Internal to start a sweep using the internal reference
clock and creating a trigger.
Access: Menu > Trigger > Internal
Select External to start a sweep based on the external input
trigger.
Access: Menu > Trigger > External
If you use a GNSS receiver while performing measurements
on a base station, you can synchronize the sweep via the
GNSS receiver.
Access: Menu > Trigger > GNSS
A sweep starts when the video voltage exceeds a particular
level. The video trigger is only available in the time domain
(when it is Zero Span = 0).
