2. Select the Authentication tab.
3. Refer to the Authentication methods field for the following:
Preferred Method
Select the preferred method for authentication. Options include:
None - No authentication
Local - The user employs a local user authentication resource. This is the default setting.
Radius - Uses an external Radius Server.
Alternate Method
Select an alternate method for authentication. This drop-down menu will not list the option already selected as the
preferred method. Select any of the remaining authentication methods as an alternate method.
4. Click the Apply button to commit the authentication method for the switch.
5. Click the Revert button to rollback to the previous authentication configuration.
6. Refer to the bottom half of the Authentication screen to view the Radius Servers configured for

similar configuration. The maximum number that can be assigned is 32.
IP Address
Displays the IP address of the external Radius server. Ensure this address is a valid IP address and not a DNS name.
Port
Displays the TCP/IP port number for the Radius Server. The port range available for assignment is from 1 - 65535.
