Poor or no sound with XM radio
NOTE: Check the radio reception in an open area. Poor
reception/interference can be caused by tall buildings,
mountains, or high-voltage power lines are nearby.
1. Turn the ignition switch to ACC (I).
2. Turn on the audio unit and select X M radio.
3. Check for an error message on the display.
Is there any message displayed?
Y E S — G o to error code list (see page 23-23). •
NO—Go to step 4.
4. Disconnect audio unit connector B (14P).
5. Check for continuity between X M receiver
connector A (14P) and body g r o u n d according to
the table.

Is there continuity?
Y E S — R e p a i r a short to g r o u n d in the w i r e between
the audio unit and the X M receiver. •
N O — G o t o step 6.
6. Check for continuity between X M receiver
connector A (14P) and audio unit connector B (14P)
according to the table.

Is there continuity?
Y E S — S u b s t i t u t e a k n o w n - g o o d X M receiver, then
reconnect all connectors and recheck. If the
s y m p t o m / i n d i c a t i o n goes away, replace the
original X M receiver. If s y m p t o m / i n d i c a t i o n is still
present, replace the audio u n i t . B
NO—Repair open in the w i r e between audio unit
and X M receiver. •
