• This diagnostic tests the cables connecting the
navigation components. Ensure that the ignition
switch is in the ON (II) position. W h e n the diagnostic
begins, a " b o n g " sound is heard. The system is in a
" D e t e c t i n g " m o d e , and is w a i t i n g for all items in
w h i t e to be tested. This includes the navigation voice
control (TALK/BACK) buttons, and microphone. Press
the navigation TALK button on the steering w h e e l ,
and in a normal voice, say " t e s t i n g " . The Talk
indicator on the screen should become green, and the
voice level indicator should m o v e to at least the 6th
bar to pass. Next, press the navigation BACK button.
This should cause the " C a n c e l " indicator to go green.
• If all of the c o m m u n i c a t i o n lines connecting the
system c o m p o n e n t s , and the navigation TALK/BACK
buttons/microphone check out OK (all block diagram
items green), then the " O K " indicator w i l l become
green.
• If there is a p r o b l e m w i t h the system, the faulty
system c o m p o n e n t item w i l l change to red, and the
screen will s h o w " N G " in red. Use the
troubleshooting index, and other diagnostic screens
to help locate the p r o b l e m .
• The indication on the screen w i l l not change until the
ignition switch is cycled. After repairing the affected
cable or system, repeat this diagnostic.
NOTE: Green boxes and green " O K " indicate that the
c o m m u n i c a t i o n s lines (cables) are intact. This
diagnostic does not necessarily i m p l y that the
individual c o m p o n e n t s are functioning properly. For
instance, the GPS antenna w i r e may be crushed, but
still s h o w as " g r e e n " . A road test, or other diagnostic
may be necessary to find the p r o b l e m .
• This navigation system is designed for use in the US
or Canada maket.
- US Market: English is the only language choice.
- Canada Market: On the disclaimer screen, English
or French can be selected.
- Touch the " C h g Canada" or " C h g U S " button to
select the desired choice.
• Select " R e t u r n " to return to the Diagnosis M e n u .
