Checking and Adjusting t h e Headliner/Pillar
T r i m Overlap
To prevent the side curtain airbag f r o m deploying and
d a m a g i n g the pillar t r i m , the overlap between the
headliner and pillar t r i m must be less then 15 m m . To
check the overlap, do this:
1. Install the headliner (A) and the p i l l a r t r i m (B).

3. Remove the pillar t r i m , and measure the headliner
overlap.
• If the overlap is less than 15 m m , remove the
tape, and install the pillar t r i m s .
• If the overlap is more than 15 m m , go to step 4.

4. Carefully t r i m the headliner w i t h a utility knife,
reducing the overlap to less than 15 m m .
5. Remove the tape, and install the pillar t r i m .
