S R S indicator does not come on
1. Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and see if the other
indicators come on (brake s y s t e m ; etc).
Do the other indicators come on?
YES—Go to step 2.
N O — G o t o step 9.
2. Turn the ignition switch OFF, then remove the
gauge control module (see page 22-235).
Disconnect the gauge control m o d u l e connector
(30P) (A) f r o m the gauge control module.

3. Check resistance between the No. 21 terminal of
gauge control module connector (30P) and body
ground. There should be 0—1.0 Q,.
G A U G E C O N T R O L M O D U L E C O N N E C T O R (30P)
4. Check for voltage between the No. 14 terminal of
the gauge control m o d u l e connector (30P) and
body ground w i t h i n the first 6 seconds after t u r n i n g
the ignition switch ON (II). There should be about
1.0 V for 6 seconds and then about 11V.

Is the voltage as specified?
YES—Faulty SRS indicator circuit in the gauge
control m o d u l e ; replace the gauge control
m o d u l e . •
N O — G o t o step 5.
5. Turn the ignition switch OFF. Disconnect the
battery negative cable, and w a i t for 3 minutes.

Is the resistance as specified?
Y E S — G o t o step 4.
NO—Open in the BLK w i r e of the dashboard w i r e
harness, junction connector or faulty body ground
terminal (G503) (see page 22-34). If the body
ground terminal is OK, replace the dashboard w i r e
h a r n e s s . •
