Vehicle icon wanders across the map when
driving (does not follow a displayed road) or
map or vehicle ICON spins
NOTE: This s y m p t o m is caused by a defective y a w rate
sensor. Perform this diagnostic w h e n the vehicle is cold
and w a r m .
1. Go into the Diagnostic M e n u and use the " Y a w
Rate" test (see page 23-117).
Are the values correct?
YES—The system is OK. •
NO—Replace the navigation unit (see page 23-145).
Navigation drives by itself when parked
NOTE:
• A l w a y s check the connectors for poor connections or
loose terminals.
• Before t r o u b l e s h o o t i n g , get the navigation system
anti-theft code.
• After troubleshooting, re-enter the anti-theft code,
and re-initialize the navigation system.
1. Start the engine.
2. From the main m e n u , select Places, then select A n y
Destination, and begin the trip.
3. W i t h the vehicle parked, watch the vehicle icon on
the display.
Does the vehicle position icon move by itself?
Y E S - G o to step 4.
NO—The system is OK at this t i m e . •
4. Go into the Diagnostic M e n u and select
" D e m o n s t r a t i o n " test under Functional Setup.
Is "Demonstration Mode" set to "YES"?
YES—Set the Demonstration m o d e to " N O " . •
NO—Replace the navigation unit (see page 23-145).
