Backprobing Spring-loaded Lock Connectors
W h e n checking voltage or resistance on this type of
connector for the first t i m e , y o u must remove the
retainer to insert the tester probe f r o m the wire side.
NOTE: It is not necessary to reinstall the r e m o v e d
retainer; the terminals w i l l stay locked in the connector
housing.
To remove the retainer (A), insert a flat-tip screwdriver
(B) between the connector body and the retainer, then
carefully pry out the retainer. Take care not to break the
connector.
Seats with Side Airbags
Seats w i t h side airbags have a "SIDE A I R B A G " label on
the seat-back. Because the c o m p o n e n t parts (seat-back
cover, cushion, etc.) of seats w i t h and w i t h o u t airbags
are different, make sure y o u install only the correct
replacement parts.

W h e n cleaning, do not saturate the seat w i t h liquid,
and do not spray steam on the seat.
Do not repair a torn or frayed seat-back cover.
Replace the seat-back cover.
After a collision in w h i c h the side airbag was
deployed, replace the side airbag w i t h new parts. If
the seat-back cushion is split, it must be replaced. If
the seat-back frame is d e f o r m e d , it must be replaced.
Never put aftermarket accessories on the seat (covers,
pads, seat heaters, lights, etc.).
