X M A n t e n n a T r o u b l e s h o o t i n g
Radio displays error code: X M NOSIGNAL or
XM ANTENNA
NOTE: Check X M radio reception in an open area. Poor
reception/interference can be caused by tall buildings,
mountains, or high-voltage power lines.
1. Park vehicle outside w i t h a clear v i e w of the
southern horizon.
Does XM radio receive a signal?
YES—Reception interference operation is
n o r m a l . •
NO—Go to step 2.
2. Disconnect the X M receiver connector B (2P).
3. Check for voltage between the No. 2 terminal of the
X M receiver connector B (2P) and body g r o u n d .
XM RECEIVER C O N N E C T O R B (2P)
Is there 3.0 V or more?
Y E S — G o t o step 4.
NO—Replace the X M receiver (see page 23-76). •
4. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
5. Reconnect X M receiver connector B (2P).
6. Disconnect the X M antenna m o d u l e unit 2P
connector.
7. Turn the ignition switch O N (II).
8. Check for voltage between the X M antenna m o d u l e
unit 2P connector No. 2 terminal and body g r o u n d .
XM ANTENNA MODULE UNIT 2P CONNECTOR
Is there 3.0 V or more?
Y E S — G o t o step 9.
NO—Replace the antenna lead. •
9. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
10. Reconnect the X M antenna m o d u l e unit 2P
connector.
11. Disconnect X M receiver connector B (2P).
12. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
13. Check for voltage between the No. 1 t e r m i n a l of the
X M receiver connector B (2P) and body g r o u n d .
XM RECEIVER CONNECTOR B (2P)
Is there 3.0 V or more?
Y E S — G o t o step 14.
NO—Replace the X M antenna m o d u l e unit
(see page 23-75). •
