6. Disconnect SRS unit connector A (28P) f r o m the
SRS unit (see step 7 on page 24-23).
7. Reconnect the battery negative cable.
8. Connect a voltmeter between the No. 14 terminal of
gauge control m o d u l e connector (30P) and body
g r o u n d . Turn the ignition switch O N (II), and
measure voltage. There should be 0.5 V or less.

Is the voltage as specified?
Y E S — F a u l t y SRS unit; replace the SRS unit
(see page 24-153). •
NO—Short to power in the BLU w i r e of the
dashboard w i r e harness or junction connector;
replace the dashboard w i r e harness. •
9. Turn the ignition switch OFF. Check the No. 21
(7.5 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box.
Is the fuse blown?
Y E S — G o t o step 11.
NO—Go to step 10.
10. Connect a v o l t m e t e r between the No. 5 terminal of
the gauge control m o d u l e connector (30P) and
body g r o u n d . Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and
measure the voltage. There should be battery
voltage.

Is there battery voltage?
Y E S — F a u l t y SRS indicator circuit in the gauge
control m o d u l e or poor contact at the gauge control
m o d u l e connector (30P) and the gauge control
m o d u l e ; if the connection is OK, replace the gauge
control module. •
NO—Open in the under-dash fuse/relay box No. 21
(7.5 A) fuse circuit, or open in the YEL w i r e of the
dashboard w i r e harness or junction connector. If
the under-dash fuse/relay box is OK, replace the
dashboard w i r e harness. •
11. Replace the No. 21 (7.5 A) fuse, then check to see if
the indicators come on.
Do the indicators come on?
Y E S — T h e system is OK at this time. •
NO—Repair the short to g r o u n d in the under-dash
fuse/relay box No. 21 (7.5 A) fuse c i r c u i t . •
