Navigation System
S y s t e m D i a g n o s t i c M o d e
Start-up procedure and Diagnosis Menu
There are t w o ways to enter the diagnostic mode:
1. Connect the SCS connector (see page 23-144) to
the navigation service connector located in the
trunk. Turn the ignition switch to the ON (II)
position. The display will go directly to the
diagnostic menu screen s h o w n .
NOTE: W h e n finished t r o u b l e s h o o t i n g , make sure
to remove the SCS connector.
2. Turn the ignition switch ON (II). Use the navigation
display hard buttons as described:
A.
If the battery has not been disconnected, then
press and hold the 3 buttons (Menu, Map/
Guide, and Cancel), and keep t h e m pressed for
about 5 seconds. The display screen w i l l go
directly to the ''Select Diagnosis I t e m s " menu
s h o w n .
3. After the display changes to the Select Diagnosis
Items m e n u , select the item y o u w a n t to check and
the diagnostic w i l l start. To return to the previous
screen, select " R E T U R N " .

If the battery was disconnected and
reconnected prior to this test, hold d o w n the
Menu and Z o o m Out buttons at the " C o d e " or
"GPS A c q u i r e " screen. The display w i l l go to
the " N a v i System L i n k " screen. Push the
joystick to go to the "Functional Setup m e n u / '
then touch the Return icon to get to the "Select
Diagnosis I t e m s " m e n u .
NOTE: This only allows access to the
diagnostic screens. All other navigation
functions are disabled.
