When adjustment is needed:

If the pin is below the line, turn the Load Adjustment crank

clockwise until the pin lines up with the horizontal line.
If the pin is above the line, turn the Load Adjustment crank

counter-clockwise until the pin lines up with the horizontal line.
Adjusting the vertical position of the floating top plate may take more
than one rotation of the crank.
After each rotation of the crank, depress the floating top plate so that

the plate can reach equilibrium.
