Harmonic Displacement Target
The target for the amplitude of the displacement oscillation. This value
cannot be set lower than 1 nm. It can be set as high as 100 nm.
Frequency Target
The target for the harmonic frequency in Hz.
Poisson's Ratio
For the test sample, the default value is for fused silica. Although this
value is used in the calculation of modulus, the result is rather
insensitive. Use the following guidelines:
0.2 for glasses and ceramics
0.25 for steels
0.3 for polymers and soft metals
There are four results that are unique to CSM testing:
E Average Over Defined Range (GPa)
The average modulus calculated from the harmonic data over the
displacement range that you specify.
H Average Over Defined Range (GPa)
The average hardness calculated from the harmonic data over the
hardness range that you specify.
Modulus From Unload (GPa)
The modulus calculated using the elastic contact stiffness measured
from the slope of the unloading curve (this is the modulus that is
measured without the CSM option installed).
Hardness From Unload (GPa)
The hardness calculated using the elastic contact stiffness measured
from the slope of the unloading curve (this is the hardness that is
measured without the CSM option installed).
