(1) Remove the power steering pump from the
engine. Refer to Power Steering Pump i n the
Removal A n d I n s t a l l a t i o n Section i n this group of the
service m a n u a l for the procedure.
(2) Clean the exterior of the power steering p u m p
and reservoir w i t h solvent.
(3) Remove the filler cap and empty the power
steering f l u i d from the reservoir.

c l a m p e d in t h e a r e a of t h e p o w e r s t e e r i n g s h a f t
front b e a r i n g . If p o w e r s t e e r i n g p u m p i s c l a m p e d in
the v i s e b y t h e m i d d l e of t h e p u m p h o u s i n g d a m a g e
to t h e p u m p c a n o c c u r .
(4) Clamp the front of the power steering pump i n
a soft j a w vice.
(5) Pry up tab and slide retaining clip off of f l u i d
reservoir (Fig. 26).

(6) Remove the power steering fluid reservoir (Fig.
27) from the body of the power steering pump.
Remove and discard the power steering fluid O-ring
seal (Fig. 27).
I N S T A L L
(1) Lubricate the new power steering fluid reser-
voir O-ring Seal (Fig. 27) w i t h fresh clean Mopar
Power Steering F l u i d or equivalent.
(2) I n s t a l l the O-ring seal i n the power steering
pump housing (Fig. 27).
(3) I n s t a l l reservoir onto housing (Fig. 27).
(4) Slide and tap i n reservoir retainer clips u n t i l
tab locks to housing (Fig. 26).
