Place the power steering pump pulley on the
end of the power steering pump shaft. M a k e sure the
pulley is installed squarely on the end of the shaft
(Fig.
2 3 ) .

Insert Pulley Installer, Special Tool C-4063
(without
adapters), t h r o u g h the hole i n center of
power steering pump drive pulley. Then fully thread
the bolt of the installer into the end of the power
steering pump shaft (Fig. 24).

Hold the bolt of Pulley Installer, Special Tool
C-4063, w i t h one wrench so i t w i l l not rotate (Fig.
24). Turn the hex of the pulley installer (Fig. 24)
down the threads of the installer, pushing the pulley
onto the power steering pump shaft. Be sure t h a t the
tool and the pulley remain aligned w i t h the shaft so
pulley does not become cocked.

Continue installing pulley onto shaft of power
steering pump, u n t i l the pulley is flush w i t h the end
of the power steering pump shaft (Fig. 25).

Remove the
Pulley Installer, Special Tool
C-4063, from the shaft of the power steering pump.

a n d c o m p a r e the drive puiiey a l i g n m e n t with the
a d j a c e n t p u l l e y s . If i n c o r r e c t , r e m o v e t h e
p o w e r
s t e e r i n g p u m p a n d a d j u s t the d r i v e pulley. If c o r -
rect, c o n t i n u e with t h e next s t e p .

Install the power steering pump on the engine.
Refer to Power Steering Pump i n the Removal A n d
Installation Section i n this group of the service man-
ual for the procedure.
