(8) Install Remover Special Tool, C-4150A, on the
steering knuckle. Special Tool C-4150A is to be
installed so the ball on the bolt of the tool is centered
on the end of the upper ball j o i n t stud.(Fig. 30).
C A U T I O N ; W h e n s e p a r a t i n g t h e bail joint s t u d from
the s t e e r i n g k n u c k l e , d o not s t r i k e or a p p l y h e a t to
the s t e e r i n g k n u c k l e to h e l p t h e s t u d s e p a r a t e from
the s t e e r i n g k n u c k l e .
(9) Tighten bolt on Remover, Special Tool C-4150A,
to apply pressure against the upper ball j o i n t stud.
This w i l l separate the ball j o i n t stud from the steer-
i n g knuckle.
(10) Using a screw driver or other suitable tool,
pry the seal boot off of the ball j o i n t (Fig. 31).
(11) Install N E W ball j o i n t sealing boot on ball
joint. Install sealing boot as far as possible on the
ball j o i n t assembly.
(12) Position Receiving Cup, Special Tool

w i t h bottom edge of sealing boot (Fig. 32). Apply
pressure, B Y H A N D , u n t i l sealing boot is pressed
squarely against lower control arm.
