TRUNK PAN
REMOVAL
(1) Remove roof panel.
(2) Remove bolts attaching t r u n k floor reinforce-
ment cables to frame (Fig. 83).
(3) Remove bolts attaching rear of t r u n k pan to
frame.
(4) U s i n g a heat gun, heat t r u n k pan to at least
121° C (250° F) to soften adhesive attaching t r u n k
pan to frame.
(5) U s i n g a flat blade scraper, cut adhesive from
between t r u n k pan and frame.
(6) Remove t r u n k pan from vehicle. Retrieve and
note location of t r u n k pan shims for installation.

INSTALLATION
(1) Clean adhesive residue from frame.
(2) Paint exposed metal of frame avoid corrosion i f
necessary.
(3) Position required shims i n the locations i n d i -
cated (Fig. 83).
(a) I f no frame repair has been performed at a
shim location, install shims previously removed
from t h a t location.
(b) I f the frame has been straightened at a shim
location to the specifications described i n Group 13,
Frame and Bumpers, install a 3 m m thick shim
group at t h a t location. Do not i n s t a l l , the shim
group previously removed from t h a t location.
(4) Apply two part polyurethane adhesive i n areas
indicated (Fig. 83).
(5) I n s t a l l t r u n k pan.
(6) Locate t r u n k pan to frame using two 10 m m .
pins.
(7) I n s t a l l bolts to attach rear of t r u n k pan to
frame.
(8) I n s t a l l bolts to attach t r u n k floor reinforcement
cables to frame.
(9) Install roof panel.
TAIL LAMP CLOSURE PANEL
R E M O V A L
(1) Remove t r u n k l i n i n g as necessary to access t a i l
lamp w i r i n g connector.
(2) Disengage t a i l lamp w i r i n g connector from
body w i r i n g harness.
(3) Separate t a i l lamp w i r i n g grommet from t r u n k
pan.
(4) Remove screws holding t a i l lamp closure panel
to the quarter panel at sides of closure panel (Fig.
84).
(5) Remove license plate.
(6) Remove bolts holding closure panel to the
t r u n k pan i n license plate area.
(7) Remove liftgate latch remote bracket from
t r u n k pan.
(8) Remove n u t holding liftgate lock cylinder to
t r u n k pan and closure panel.
(9) Separate lock cylinder from closure panel.
(10) Separate closure panel from vehicle.
INSTALLATION
(1) Position closure panel on vehicle .
(2) I n s t a l l bolts to hold closure panel to the t r u n k
pan i n license plate area.
(3) I n s t a l l lock cylinder through hole i n closure
panel.
(4) I n s t a l l n u t to hold liftgate lock cylinder to
t r u n k pan and closure panel.
(5) I n s t a l l lock cylinder arm to latch remote.
