REMOVAL A N D I N S T A L L A T I O N { C o n t i n u e d )
(6) Connect the camshaft position sensor electrical
connector.
(7) I n s t a l l lower radiator and coolant r e t u r n hoses.
(8) A t t a c h power steering oil cooler to front cross-
member.
(9) I n s t a l l drive belt. See Accessory Drive Belts
installation i n this section.
(10) I n s t a l l air cleaner assembly.
(11) Refill Cooling System. See Refilling Cooling
System i n this section.
THERMOSTAT
REMOVAL
(1) D r a i n cooling system down to thermostat level
or below.
(2) Remove intake manifold. Refer to Group 11,
Exhaust System and Intake Manifold.
(3) Remove upper radiator hose clamp at engine
thermostat housing and remove hose.
(4) Remove thermostat housing bolts and housing
(Fig. 17).
(5) Remove thermostat and discard gasket. Clean
both gasket sealing surfaces using a plastic scraper
and Mopar® Brake Parts Cleaner or the equivalent.

INSTALLATION
(1) Place a new gasket on the cylinder block cross-
over surface, center thermostat into opening i n the
thermostat housing. Place housing over gasket and
thermostat, m a k i n g sure thermostat is i n recess pro-
vided i n the housing (Fig. 17).
(2) I n s t a l l housing to cylinder block and t i g h t e n
bolts to 11 N - m (95 i n . lbs.).
(3) I n s t a l l intake manifold. Refer to i n s t a l l a t i o n
procedure i n Group 11, Exhaust System and Intake
Manifold.
(4) Refill cooling system. Refer to procedure i n this
section.
RADIATOR
REMOVAL
(1) Disconnect negative battery cable from battery.

(2) D r a i n cooling system. Refer to D r a i n i n g Cool-
i n g System i n this section.
(3) Remove air cleaner assembly (Fig. 18) or (Fig.
19).
(4) Remove hose clamps and hoses from the radia-
tor. Disconnect fan electrical connection.

(5) Remove upper radiator m o u n t i n g nuts (Fig.
20).
(6) Move top of radiator u n t i l i t is clear of radiator
support then i t can be lifted free from engine com-
partment. C a r e s h o u l d be t a k e n not to damage
r a d i a t o r cooling fins or w a t e r tubes d u r i n g
r e m o v a l .
(7) Remove fan shroud assembly from radiator.
