When service is required, Chrysler Corporation
recommends t h a t only Mopar® brand parts, l u b r i -
cants and chemicals be used. Mopar® provides the
best engineered products for servicing Chrysler Cor-
poration vehicles.

I f a vehicle is operated under any of the following
conditions, i t is considered severe service.
• Extremely dusty areas.
• 50% or more of vehicle operation i n 32° C (90° F)
or higher temperatures.
• Prolonged i d l i n g , such as, vehicle operation i n
stop a n d go traffic.
• Frequent short r u n n i n g periods. N o t allowing
engine to w a r m to operating temperatures.
• Police or t a x i usage.
FUEL
USAGE
Viper engines require the use o f unleaded fuel to
reduce exhaust emissions. Use p r e m i u m unleaded
gasoline having a m i n i m u m
octane r a t i n g o f 9 1
(R+M)/2. Higher octane p r e m i u m unleaded gasoline
can be used i f desired.
INTERNATIONAL SYMBOLS

identify
engine compartment lubricant and fluid
inspection and fill locations (Fig. 1).
