INSTALLATION
(1) After removing the sensor, the threads must be
cleaned w i t h an 18 m m X 1.5 + 6E tap. I f reusing the
original sensor, coat the sensor threads w i t h an anti-
seize compound such as Loctite® 771- 64 or equiva-
lent. New sensors have compound on the threads and
do not require an additional coating.
(2) I n s t a l l sensor using an oxygen sensor crow foot
wrench such as Snap-On tool YA8875 or equivalent
(3) Tighten the sensor to 27 N - m (20 ft. lbs.)

AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT
The Viper air inlet system does not preheat ambi-
ent air. O n the Coupe model the majority of the inlet
air is directed into the air cleaner front housing from
the hood mounted N A C A duct (Fig. 44) or (Fig. 45).
On the Roadster model the airduct connects directly
to the front portion of the air cleaner. On both mod-
els the incoming ambient air passes through two f i l -
ter elements i n the air cleaner. F r o m the filters
ambient air passes through the throttle bodies into
the intake manifold.
