l i n k n u t (Fig. 88). Tighten the stabilizer bar attach-
ing l i n k n u t to a torque of 22 N - m (200 i n . lbs.).
(2) I n s t a l l the stabilizer bar attaching l i n k s on the
stabilizer bar. • I n s t a l l the stabilizer bar
attaching
links to stabilizer bar
attaching nuts
(Fig. 90).
Tighten the stabilizer bar to attaching l i n k nuts to a
torque of 22 N - m (200 i n . lbs.).
(3) I n s t a l l the wheel and t i r e assembly. Tighten
the wheel m o u n t i n g stud nuts i n proper sequence
u n t i l a l l nuts are torqued to h a l f specification. Then
repeat the t i g h t e n i n g sequence to the full specified
torque of 122 N - m (90 ft. lbs.).
(4) Lower vehicle.
STABILIZER BAR BUSHINGS
R E M O V E
(1) Raise vehicle on jackstands or centered on a
frame contact type hoist. See Hoisting i n the L u b r i -
cation and Maintenance section of this manual for
the required l i f t i n g procedure to be used for this
vehicle.
(2) Remove the bolts securing the stabilizer bar
bushing retainers to the frame (Fig. 92).

(3) Remove the bushing retainers from the stabi-
lizer bar bushings (Fig. 93).
(4) Inspect stabilizer bar bushings to determined i f
the stabilizer bar bushings (Fig. 93) require replace-
ment.
(5) Remove the old bushings by opening the slit i n
the bushing and peeling the bushing off the stabilizer
bar.
INSTALL
(1) Thoroughly clean the stabilizer bar i n the area
where the bushings contact the stabilizer bar.
(2) I n s t a l l the new bushings on the stabilizer bar
by opening its slit and wrapping the bushing around
the stabilizer bar.
(3) Position the stabilizer bar bushings on the bar
so they are against the retaining rings on the stabi-
lizer bar (Fig. 93).
(4) I n s t a l l the bushing retainers (Fig. 93) on the
bushings.
