R E M O V A L A N D INSTALLATION {Continued)
FUEL PUMP MODULE—ROADSTER
R E M O V A L
(1) Disconnect positive battery cable at the PDC.
(2) D r a i n the fuel t a n k before removing i t from the
vehicle. Refer to D r a i n i n g Fuel Tank i n this section.
(3) Refer to Fuel Tank Removal/Installation i n this
section for Fuel Tank removal and accesses of the
fuel pump module.
(4) Use Special Tool 6856 to remove fuel pump
module locknut.
(5) L i f t module up to remove being careful not to
spill the residual fuel t h a t is left i n i t . The float a r m
of the level sensor catches on the inside of the fuel
t a n k while removing the module. T i l t the module
assembly to one side while removing i t .
INSTALLATION
(1) I n s t a l l gasket on fuel tank.
(2) Seat Fuel Pump Module i n t a n k by pushing
down on i t , align the regulator to the rear and the
rollover valve forward.
(3) H a n d t i g h t e n the lock nut, then torque to 25
N - m (34 ft. lbs.) using Special tool 6856.
(4) I n s t a l l fuel t a n k per the Fuel Tank installation
i n this section.
(5) Connect positive battery cable at the PDC.
(6) Use the DRB Scan Tool A S D Fuel System Test
to pressurize the fuel system. Check for leaks.
(7) I n s t a l l access panel i n t r u n k . Refer to Group
23, Body.

t h e A S D relay a n d fuel p u m p relay r e m a i n e n e r g i z e d
for 7 m i n u t e s or until t h e t e s t i s s t o p p e d , o r until
t h e ignition s w i t c h i s t u r n e d to t h e Off p o s i t i o n .
FUEL PUMP MODULE—COUPE
REMOVAL
(1) Release fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel
Pressure Release Procedure i n this section.
(2) Disconnect positive battery cable at the PDC.
(3) Access fuel pump module cover by p u l l i n g
t r u n k r u g back, Refer to Group 23, Body.
(4) D r i l l pop rivets from fuel pump module cover
using a 1/4 d r i l l .
(5) Remove cover.
(6) Use Special Tool 6856 to remove fuel pump
module locknut.
(7) L i f t module up to remove being careful not to
spill the residual fuel t h a t is left i n i t . The float a r m
of the level sensor catches on the inside of the fuel
t a n k while removing the module. T i l t the module
assembly to one side while removing i t .
INSTALLATION
(1) I n s t a l l new gasket on fuel tank.

for 7 m i n u t e s or until t h e t e s t i s s t o p p e d , or until
t h e ignition s w i t c h i s t u r n e d to t h e Off p o s i t i o n .
(5) Use the D R B Scan Tool ASD Fuel System Test
to pressurize the fuel system. Check for leaks.
(6) I n s t a l l fuel pump module cover using pop r i v -
ets.
(7) I n s t a l l r u g i n t r u n k . Refer to Group 23, Body.
FUEL FILTER
The fuel filter mounts to the frame below the front
of the fuel t a n k (Fig. 13).

REMOVAL
(1) Disconnect positive battery cable at the PDC.
(2) Release fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel
Pressure Release Procedure i n this section.
(3) Remove fuel tubes from fuel
filter.

Quick- Connect Fittings and Fuel Tubes i n the Fuel
Delivery section of this group.
(4) Remove fuel
filter
m o u n t i n g bolt (Fig. 13).
Remove filter from clamp.
INSTALLATION
(1) Install filter into clamp.
(2) Position filter on frame r a i l . I n s t a l l m o u n t i n g
bolt.
