• I f the h i g h spot is N O T w i t h i n 102 m m (4.0 in.)
of either h i g h spot, draw an arrow on the tread from
second h i g h spot to first. Break down the t i r e and
remount i t 90 degrees on r i m i n t h a t direction (Fig.
10). This procedure w i l l n o r m a l l y reduce the r u n o u t
to an acceptable amount.
C L E A N I N G A N D I N S P E C T I O N
CLEANING OF TIRES
Remove protective coating on tires before delivery
of vehicle. The coating could cause deterioration of
tires.
Remove protective coating by:
• A p p l y i n g w a r m water
• L e t t i n g i t soak one m i n u t e
• Scrubbing the coating away w i t h a soft bristle
brush.

• Steam cleaning may also be used for cleaning.
• DO N O T use gasoline or wire brush for cleaning.
• DO N O T use m i n e r a l oil or an oil-based solvent.
