lower control a r m cam bolts and nuts (Fig. 47) to
their specified torque. See Specifications at the end of
this group for the specified cam bolt torque.
BALL JOINT SEAL BOOT LOWER
I f the rear lower ball j o i n t seal boot
requires
replacement, the lower control a r m and knuckle does
not need to be removed from the vehicle for its
replacement.
(1) Raise vehicle on jackstands or centered on a
frame contact type hoist. See Hoisting i n the L u b r i -
cation and Maintenance section of this manual for
the required lifting procedure to be used for this
vehicle.
(2) Remove rear wheel and tire.
(3) Loosen but do not remove the n u t attaching the
rear stabilizer bar l i n k to the lower control a r m (Fig.
48). Thread the n u t to the end of the stabilizer bar
attaching l i n k stud (Fig. 48).

C A U T I O N : T h e nut m u s t b e p o s i t i o n e d at t h e e n d of
the s t a b i l i z e r b a r a t t a c h i n g link s t u d w h e n r e m o v i n g
it f r o m t h e lower c o n t r o l a r m . T h i s will p r e v e n t t h e
e n d of t h e s t u d f r o m b e i n g d a m a g e d w h e n r e m o v -
ing it f r o m t h e lower c o n t r o l a r m .
(4) Remove the stabilizer bar attaching l i n k from
lower control a r m using the following
procedure.
Position the attaching l i n k n u t at the end of attach-
i n g l i n k stud (Fig. 49). Position a center punch i n the
hole on the end of the attaching l i n k stud (Fig. 49).
Strike the center punch, to remove the attaching l i n k
stud from the lower control arm.
(5) Remove the bolt and n u t m o u n t i n g the shock
absorber clevis to the m o u n t i n g bracket on the lower
control a r m (Fig. 50).
(6) Remove the cotter p i n and n u t (Fig. 51) attach-
i n g the lower ball j o i n t to the lower control arm.

(7) Remove the stud of the lower ball j o i n t (Fig.
52) from the lower control a r m using Puller, Special
Tool C-4150A (Fig. 52).
