IDENTIFICATION
In-line connectors are identified by a number, as
follows:
• In-line connectors located on the e n g i n e com-
p a r t m e n t h a r n e s s are C100 series numbers.
• Connectors, located on the i n s t r u m e n t
p a n e l
h a r n e s s are C200 series numbers.
• Connectors located on the body h a r n e s s are
C300 series numbers.
• J u m p e r h a r n e s s connectors are C400 series
numbers.
• G r o u n d s a n d g r o u n d connectors are identi-
fied w i t h a " G " and follow the same series number-
i n g as the in-line connector.
Component connectors are identified by the compo-
nent name instead of a number (Fig. 2 ) . M u l t i p l e
connectors on a component use a C I , C2, etc. identi-
fier (Fig. 3).

Section 8W-80 shows each connector and the cir-
cuits involved w i t h that connector. The
connectors
are identified using the name/number
on the Dia-
gram pages.
SPLICE LOCATIONS
Splice Location charts i n Section 8W-70 show the
entire splice, and provide references to other sections
the splice serves.
Section 8W-95 contains illustrations t h a t show the
general location of the splices i n each harness. The
illustrations show the splice by number, and provide
a w r i t t e n location.
NOTES, CAUTIONS, and WARNINGS
Throughout this group additional i m p o r t a n t infor-
mation is presented i n three ways; Notes, Cautions,
and Warnings.
N O T E S are used to help describe how switches or
components operate to complete a particular circuit.
They are also used to indicate different conditions
t h a t may appear on the vehicle. For example, an
up-to and after condition.
C A U T I O N S are used to indicate information that
could prevent m a k i n g an error t h a t may damage the
vehicle.
W A R N I N G S provide information to prevent per-
sonal injury and vehicle damage. Below is a list of
general warnings that should be followed any time a
vehicle is being serviced.
