the caliper bore as follows. Assemble a 3/8 drive
ratchet handle and 7/16 deep-well socket, then insert
Spanner, Special Tool 6366 into deep well socket (Fig.
80). Insert lugs on face of spanner tool, into matching
holes i n face of caliper piston (Fig. 80). A l o t o f

(7) Rotate caliper piston i n a c l o c k w i s e direction
u n t i l caliper piston is fully seated (bottomed) i n the
caliper bore. Then remove caliper piston r o t a t i n g spe-
cial tool.
(8) I n s t a l l the brake rotor on the hub/bearing.
(9) I n s t a l l the inboard brake shoe into the caliper
by sliding i t between the rotor and the caliper (Fig.
74).
(10) I n s t a l l outboard brake shoe into caliper by
sliding i t i n between the rotor and the caliper (Fig.
73).

(11) I n s t a l l the anti-rattle spring into the
brake
caliper (Fig. 72). Be sure anti-rattle clip is positioned
correctly between brake shoes and caliper (Fig. 72).
I n s t a l l brake shoe r e t a i n i n g p i n into caliper assembly
from the outboard side (Fig. 72), u n t i l small end of
retaining p i n is i n inboard side of caliper assembly.
W h e n i n s t a l l i n g r e t a i n i n g p i n be sure i t passes
t h r o u g h loops i n anti-rattle spring (Fig. 72).
(12) Using a p i n drift, drive the brake shoe retain-
i n g p i n into the caliper. Be sure retaining p i n is
installed u n t i l retaining p i n snap r i n g is seated i n
outboard side of caliper (Fig. 81). Refer to (Fig. 82) to
ensure t h a t the rear caliper brake shoes and compo-
nents are correctly installed.

(13) I n s t a l l the wheel and tire. Tighten the wheel
mounting stud nuts i n proper sequence u n t i l a l l nuts
are torqued to h a l f specification. Then repeat the
tightening sequence to the full specified torque of 122
N - m (90 ft. lbs.).
(14) Remove jackstands or lower hoist.
(15) Lower the vehicle to the ground so the full
weight of the vehicle is supported by the tires.
(16) Apply the p a r k i n g brake to keep vehicle from
moving when
torquing the
hub/bearing
to
yoke
mounting n u t .
(17) Tighten the yoke to rear hub/bearing mount-
i n g n u t to a torque of 257 N - m (190 ft. lbs.) (Fig. 83).
(18) I n s t a l l the spring washer, retainer, and cotter
p i n for the rear hub n u t on the yoke (Fig. 84).
