SPORT SHIMS
The Viper is equipped w i t h sport shims which can
be T E M P O R A R I L Y removed i f the vehicle is going
to be used i n a sporting event such as an Autocross.
There are 2 sport shims used on each side of the
vehicle's front suspension. There is one sport shim
located at each of the front upper control a r m pivot
bar to frame attaching studs (Fig. 13).

(9) Remove caster angle inclinometers from front
or rear knuckles.
DYNAMIC
TOE
PATTERN
Dynamic toe pattern is the steering of the road
wheels w h e n there is vertical movement of the sus-
pension w i t h no rotation of the steering wheel.
Dynamic toe pattern has been set at the factory
when the vehicle was built. I t w i l l come into specifi-
cation when the specified camber, caster and static
toe specifications are met and maintained.
There are features on the Viper's frame w h i c h pro-
vide a means to adjust the dynamic toe pattern.
Under normal circumstances,
these should
never
need to be altered. Refer to Adjustments elsewhere i n

The sport shims can be T E M P O R A R I L Y removed
which w i l l change the front camber angle negatively
by 1°. This 1° negative change i n camber angle w i l l
allow the Viper to exhibit higher cornering power
