(3) Compress shock absorber coil spring using Pro-
fessional Services Equipment Spring Compressor GP-
2020-C3.5 or an equivalent (Fig. 108). The spring
compressor is to be equipped w i t h an A-20 spring
shoe on the top and the bottom.
C A U T I O N :
Do not c l a m p t h e s h o c k a b s o r b e r in a
v i s e b y t h e b o d y of t h e s h o c k a b s o r b e r . T h e s h o c k
a b s o r b e r m u s t b e c l a m p e d
in t h e v i s e o n l y u s i n g
the c l e v i s of t h e s h o c k a b s o r b e r ( F i g . 107).
(1) I n s t a l l the shock absorber vertically i n a vise
by m o u n t i n g clevis of the shock absorber i n the vise's
jaws.(Fig. 107).

(4) Compress the coil spring enough to allow the
upper coil spring seat to be removed from coil spring
and shock absorber (Fig. 109).

(5) Release the spring compressor's tension on the
spring, and remove the spring compressor from the
coil spring.
(6) Remove. the
coil
spring
from
the
shock
absorber.
(7) Remove the jounce bumper and plastic collar
from the shaft of the shock absorber (Fig. 110).
