4. U n b a l a n c e d steering gear v a l v e .
(If this is the c a u s e , the s t e e r i n g
efforts will be v e r y light in direction of
lead a n d heavier in the o p p o s i t e
direction.
1. Rotate tires as r e c o m m e n d e d in the Tire
A n d W h e e l G r o u p of this service m a n u a l .
2. Align the front s u s p e n s i o n as required.
Refer to the W h e e l A l i g n m e n t P r o c e d u r e in
the S u s p e n s i o n G r o u p of this service
m a n u a l for the required w h e e l alignment
p r o c e d u r e .
3. C h e c k for d r a g g i n g brakes. Refer to t h e
p r o c e d u r e s in the Brake G r o u p of this
service m a n u a l .
4. Replace steering gear.

1. Overfilled p o w e r steering p u m p
fluid reservoir.
1. Adjust the p o w e r steering fluid fill to t h e
correct level.

1. P o w e r steering h o s e c o n n e c t i o n s
at the p o w e r steering p u m p or
steering gear.
2. P o w e r steering p u m p or p o w e r
steering g e a r leaking.
1. C h e c k for loose p o w e r steering h o s e
fittings a n d if f o u n d tighten the fitting to its
specified t o r q u e . If fittings are tight e x a m i n e
the fittings for d a m a g e d or missing O-ring
seals a n d replace as required.
2. Identify the location of the leak a n d
repair or replace the c o m p o n e n t a s
required. Refer to P o w e r Steering P u m p
and/or P o w e r Steering G e a r in this g r o u p of
the service m a n u a l for required p r o c e d u r e s .
