REMOVAL A N D INSTALLATION (Continued)
(4) W i t h the connector linkage i n place, m o u n t the
r i g h t hand t h r o t t l e body, t i g h t e n the bolts to 11.6
N . m (102.5 i n . lbs.).
(5) Connect electrical connector to t h r o t t l e position
sensor.
(6) Adjust t h r o t t l e cable. Refer to Throttle Cable
Adjustment section of this group.
THE THROTTLE BODY LEVER FITS IN A NOTCH IN THE
CONNECTOR LINKAGE LEVER.

THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR (TPS)
The TPS is attached to the left t h r o t t l e body (Fig.
34).

REMOVAL
(1) Disconnect the TPS electrical connector.
(2) Remove the TPS m o u n t i n g screws.
(3) Remove the TPS.
INSTALLATION
The t h r o t t l e shaft end of the t h r o t t l e body slides
i n t o a socket i n the TPS (Fig. 35). When indexed cor-
rectly, the TPS can rotate a few degrees to line up
the m o u n t i n g screw holes w i t h the screw holes i n the
t h r o t t l e body. I f the sensor w i l l not rotate into place,
i n s t a l l the sensor w i t h the t h r o t t l e shaft on the other
side of the socket tangs. The TPS has slight tension
w h e n rotated to align the m o u n t i n g holes.

Installation
(1) I n s t a l l TPS and m o u n t i n g screws.
(2) A t t a c h electrical connector to the TPS.
IDLE AIR CONTROL (IAC) MOTOR
The I A C motor is inserted into a housing at the
front of the intake manifold (Fig. 36). The I A C motor
and housing are serviced together.
