However, boot options for added devices must be added to the end.
Basically, there are two kinds of boot option. One is for booting a UEFI-aware OS, and the other for booting a
legacy OS. The differences between them are as follows:
- How a boot device is specified
When specifying a boot device for a UEFI-aware OS, you can specify an executable file name and other
detailed information by using device path expressions based on UEFI specifications. However, when
specifying a boot device for a legacy OS, you can specify such information only at the device level.
- How the boot priority is specified
You can change the boot priority order for a UEFI-aware OS by changing the order of the boot options. You
can change this setting from the [Change Boot Order] screen of the [Boot Options] menu. (See

menu.)

Overview of UEFI boot specifications

The [Boot Manager] menu displays the boot options for a UEFI-aware OS according to their boot priority. The
boot option displayed at the top has the highest priority. The first boot attempt uses that option.
