CHAPTER 1 MMB Web-UI (Web User Interface) Operations
Item
Remarks
Power Control
Used to select the power control for partitions.
However, this field does not display the [Power On] menu for a partition already powered
on. On the other hand, the field does not display [Power Off], [Reset], [NMI], [Power
Cycle], [Force Power Off], and [sadump] for a partition already powered off.
Force Power Off
Sets whether to execute force power-off when the [Power Off] function has difficulty
Delay
shutting down the operating system on the partition and thus cannot power off the partition.
If Force Power Off is set, you can specify the power-off execution time (setting range: 1
to 9 minutes). The partition would be forcibly powered off at the specified time.
The check box is unchecked by default.
Boot Selector
Specifies the boot device that temporarily overrides the Boot Manager settings of the
BIOS. You can select the boot device from the pull-down menu.
- Panic: The partition is in the panic state (RHEL only).
- Power Off In Progress: The partition power-off sequence is in progress.
- Fatal: The partition has stopped.
- Initiate soft-shutdown: A partition power-off instruction from the Web-UI changed
the status display in [System Progress] to [Initiate soft-shutdown] and started the
countdown for the forced power-off sequence.
- Dumping: Dump output is in progress.
- Halt: The partition is in the Halt state.
- Stop Error: A stop error occurred (only in Windows).
- If PSA (PRIMEQUEST 1800E) or SVmco (PRIMEQUEST 1800E2) is not installed
in the partition, the display does not switch to "OS Running" even when the
operating system is running.
Furthermore, without PSA (PRIMEQUEST 1800E) or SVmco (PRIMEQUEST
1800E2) installed, this field does not display "OS Shutdown," "Panic," and "Stop
Error," all of which depend on an instruction from PSA or SVmco.
- fefpcl is required only for panic notification in Linux.
- In Windows Server 2003, the display may not switch to "OS Shutdown."
- Power On: Powers on the partition.
- Power Off: Powers off the partition.
From the viewpoint of the operating system, this Power Off function seems to be
the power button operated to turn off the device. Therefore, if the operating system
of the partition supports ACPI, the function can shut down the operating system and
then power off the partition. For details, see the power specifications for the
operating system (ACPI).Unless the operating system supports the ACPI, the
function powers off the partition without shutting down the operating system.
- Power Cycle: Forcibly powers off and on the partition.
- Reset: Resets the partition.
- NMI: Generates an NMI interrupt to the partition.
- Force Power Off: Forcibly powers off the partition.
- (Not specified): Specifies nothing for the partition.
