24.5 Cautions when Using Low Voltage and CPU Operation Detection Reset Circuit

The cautions when using the low voltage & CPU operation detection reset circuit are given below:
n Cautions when using low-voltage detection reset circuit
• Circuit operation cannot be stopped using the program.
The low-voltage detection reset circuit operates continuously when the operation stabilization wait time has
elapsed after power-on. Operation of the circuit cannot be stopped using software.
• Operation of circuit in stop mode
The low-voltage detection reset circuit continues operating even in the stop mode, so when the circuit
detects a low voltage during the stop mode, a reset occurs and the stop mode is cancelled.
n Cautions when using CPU operation detection reset circuit
• Circuit operation cannot be stopped using the program.
The CPU operation detection reset circuit operates continuously after power-on. Circuit operation cannot
be stopped using software.
• Inhibition of reset
The CPU operation detection function must clear the counter at regular intervals. When 0 is written to the
CL bit of the LVRC register, the counter can be cleared, inhibiting the occurrence of resets.
• Stopping and clearing counter
In the mode in which the CPU stops operating, the CPU operation detection function clears the counter
and stops operating.
• Operation in sub-oscillation mode
In the sub-oscillation mode, the CPU operation detection function stops operating, so use the watchdog
reset function in combination with this function.
