8.7 Port 5

Port 5 is a general-purpose I/O port that serves both as a resource input and output. Each pin can be
switched between the resource and the port by the bit. The function as a general-purpose I/O port is mainly
explained here. The configuration, pins, block diagram of the pins, and registers for port 5 are shown below.
n Configuration of port 5
Port 5 consists of the following three elements:
• General-purpose I/O pins, resource input pins (P50/INT0 to P57/SGA)
• Port 5 data register (PDR5)
• Port 5 direction register (DDR5)
n Pins of port 5
The I/O pins of the port 5 also serve as resource input pins, so when using a pin of port 5 as a resource I/O
pin, it cannot be used as a general-purpose I/O port. Table 8-19 shows the pins of port 5.
