MB90420/5 (A) SERIES F
n Clock mode
• PLL Clock mode
In PLL clock mode, the CPU and resources operate on a PLL multiplying clock for oscillation clock (HCLK).
• Main clock mode
In main clock mode, the CPU and resources operate on a 2-divided oscillation clock (HCLK). In this mode,
the PLL multiplying circuit stops.
• Sub-clock mode
In sub-clock mode, the CPU and resources operate on 4-divided sub-clock (SCLK). In this mode, the main
clock and PLL multiplying circuit stop.
Remark: For the clock mode, see Section 4.4.
n CPU Intermittent operation mode
In this mode, the CPU performs the intermittent operation with the high-speed clock supplied to the resource
to reduce the power consumption. In this mode, the intermittent clock is input to only the CPU at accessing
registers, internal memory, resources, or at the external access.
n Standby mode
In standby mode, the low-power consumption controller is used to stop supply of the clock to the CPU (sleep
mode), to the CPU and resources (time-base timer mode), or to stop the oscillation clock (stop mode) to
reduce the power consumption.
• PLL Sleep mode
In PLL sleep mode, the CPU operating clock stops in the PLL clock mode. Everything except the CPU
operates on the PLL clock.
• Main sleep mode
In main sleep mode, the CPU operating clock stops in the main clock mode. Everything except the CPU
operates on the main clock.
• Sub-sleep mode
In sub-sleep mode, the CPU operating clock stops in the sub-clock mode. Everything except the CPU
operates on the 4-divided sub-clock.
• Time-base timer mode
In time-base timer mode, everything except the oscillation clock and time-base timer stops. Everything
except the time-base timer and watch timer stops.
• Timer mode
In timer mode, only the watch timer operates; the sub-clock operates and the main clock and the PLL
multiplying circuit stop.
• Stop mode
In the stop mode, the original oscillation stops. All functions stop.
Note:
In the stop mode, the oscillation clock stops, enabling data to be held with the lowest power
consumption.
