11.4 Explanation of Operation
The input capture operation is explained.
n Operation explanation
• 16-bit free-run timer
After a reset is canceled, the 16-bit free-run timer starts counting at 0000. This counter value works as the
base time of the 16-bit output compare and 16-bit input capture.
• 16-bit input capture
When the set effective edge is detected, the 16-bit input capture can write the value of the 16-bit free-run
timer to the capture register to generate an interrupt.
