8.8 Port 6

Port 6 is a general-purpose I/O port that serves as a A/D converter analog input. Each pin can be switched
between the analog input and the port by the bit. The function as a general-purpose I/O port is mainly
explained here. The configuration, pins, block diagram of the pins, and registers for port 6 are shown below.
n Configuration of port 6
Port 6 consists of the following four elements:
• General-purpose I/O pins, analog input pins (P60/AN0 to P67/AN7)
• Port 6 data register (PDR6)
• Port 6 direction register (DDR6)
• Analog input enable register (ADER)
n Pins of port 6
The I/O pins of the port 6 also serve as analog input pins, so when using a pin of port 6 as an analog input
pin, it cannot be used as a general-purpose I/O port. Also, when using the pin as a general-purpose port, do
not use it as an analog input pin. Table 8-23 shows the pins of port 6.
