External device connection
External medical accessories can be connected to external device
connection. They must comply with the requirements of the Medical
Device Directive 93/42/EEC.
NOTICE
Additional devices, hydrogen peroxide up to 0.2‰, with waterline treatment system
While adding water to the waterline treatment solution, additional
devices are exposed to a hydrogen peroxide concentration (H
0.1‰-0.2‰ at the external device connection.
If the additional devices are not suitable for the specified hydrogen
peroxide concentration, they may be damaged.
➢ Before connecting any additional devices, check to make sure that
they can be exposed to the above hydrogen peroxide concentration.
Contact the manufacturer of the relevant additional device, if
necessary.
➢ Prior to sanitation, additional devices must be unplugged from the
external device connection (water connection), see "Sanitizing the
dental treatment unit" [ → 248].

DVGW approval
Due to the design of the dental treatment unit according to EN 1717
(DVGW requirements), the connected additional devices also fulfill the
requirements of the above standards, see "Standards and Approvals"
[ → 23].

Self-contained power supply
The IEC socket remains live when the power switch is turned off. The
connected external devices therefore must have their own power switch.
However, the air and water connections are switched off.
