5 Care, cleaning and maintenance by the practice team
Sanitation phase 3 – Treating water lines with DENTOSEPT P
waterline treatment solution
The water is pumped out of the water tank of the water unit via the tumbler
filler. Then the water tank is automatically filled with pure DENTOSEPT
P. This activates flushing of the instrument hoses, the SPRAYVIT hoses
and the tumbler filler with the DENTOSEPT P waterline treatment
solution. The suction hoses are cleaned.
NOTICE
Tumbler filling, discolorations due to DENTOSEPT P
Splashes of pure DENTOSEPT P can result in discoloration of surfaces
if left for too long.
Any splashes should therefore be removed immediately using a moist
cloth.
Sanitation phase 4 – Allow 24 hours reaction time
In order to effectively combat germs, you must allow the DENTOSEPT P
waterline treatment solution to act at least 24 hours, but for no longer than
3 days (maximum sanitation time).
Sanitization phase 4 is highlighted on the touchscreen.
The dental treatment unit displays the remaining reaction time on the
touchscreen next to the sanitation phase 4 field, starting from 24
hours.
The dental treatment unit has automatically switched to Standby
mode.
1. Leave all instruments plugged into the water unit.
2. Make sure that the dental treatment unit is switched off for at least 24
hours, but not longer than 3 days (maximum sanitation time). If
necessary, you can also turn off the power switch on the base of the
dental treatment unit patient chair.
IMPORTANT
Blocking water and air supply
If the dental treatment unit is turned on again after 24 hours, the
sanitation process continues automatically with sanitation phase 5.
However, if the water and air supplies are switched off, the
DENTOSEPT P waterline treatment solution cannot be rinsed out of the
water lines.
Switch the dental treatment unit back on after 24 hours only when the
water and air supply lines are open.
3. Empty the rinsing tumbler and return the empty tumbler below the
tumbler outlet.
4. Switch the dental treatment unit on again after 24 hours and before 3
days have elapsed.
