11. Check the No. 10 (20 A) fuse in the under-hood
fuse/relay box.
Is the f use blown?
YES
NO −
12. Check for continuity between brake pedal position
switch 4P connector terminal No. 1 and body
ground.

BRAKE PEDAL POSITION SWITCH 4P CONNECTOR
Is there continuity?
YES
between the No. 10 (20 A) fuse in the under-hood
fuse/relay box and the brake pedal position
switch.
NO −
13. Short the SCS line with the HDS.
14. Disconnect ECM/PCM connector A (49P).

− Go to step 12.
Reinstall the checked fuse, then go to step 16.
RED
Wire side of female terminals
− Repair short to body ground in the wire
Go to step 13.
15. Check for continuity between brake pedal position
switch 4P connector terminal No. 2 and body
ground.

LT GRN
Wire side of female terminals
Is there continuity?
−
YES Repair short to body ground in the wire
between the brake pedal position switch and the
ECM/PCM.
NO − Install a new No. 10 (20 A) fuse in the under-
hood fuse/relay box, then go to step 18.
16. Short the SCS line with the HDS.
17. Disconnect ECM/PCM connector A (49P).
