VSA System Components
Symptom Troubleshooting (cont'd)
ABS indicator, brake system indicator, and
VSA indicator do not go off at the same time
1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
2. Check the No. 6 (7.5 A) fuse in the driver's under-
dash fuse/relay box.
Is the f use blown?
YES
NO
3. Disconnect the VSA modulator-control unit 36P
connector (see step 3 on page 19-142).
4. Disconnect the yaw rate-lateral acceleration sensor
5P connector (see page 19-138).
5. Check for continuity between VSA modulator-
control unit 36P connector terminal No. 30 and
body ground.

VSA MODULATOR-CONTROL UNIT 36P CONNECTOR
Is there continuity?
YES
between the No. 6 (7.5 A) fuse in the driver's under-
dash fuse/relay box and the VSA modulator-control
unit or the yaw rate-lateral acceleration sensor.
NO
under-dash fuse/relay box, then go to step 7.

Go to step 3.
Reinstall the checked fuse, then go to step 6.

Wire side of female terminals
Repair short to body ground in the wire
Install the new No. 6 (7.5 A) fuse in the driver's
6. Disconnect the VSA modulator-control unit 36P
connector (see step 3 on page 19-142).
7. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
8. Measure the voltage between VSA modulator-
control unit 36P connector terminal No. 30 and
body ground.
VSA MODULATOR-CONTROL UNIT 36P CONNECTOR
IG1 (GRY)
Wire side of female terminals
Is there battery voltage?
YES
Go to step 9.
NO
Repair open in the wire between the No. 6
(7.5 A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay
box and the VSA modulator-control unit.
9. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
