Basic device configuration
Active and configured PMI
If you use the show pmi command before you reset the Branch Gateway, two different PMIs
display:
Active PMI: The IPv4 PMI that the Branch Gateway is currently using, as defined in the running
configuration file.
Configured PMI: The PMI that the Branch Gateway is configured to use after reset, as defined
in the startup configuration file.
Active PMI6: The IPv6 PMI that the Branch Gateway is currently using, as defined in the
running configuration file.

FastEthernet, Tunnel, VLAN,
Loopback, or Dialer interface

Primary Management Interface
for the system

You can define pmi6 or pmi6
link-local on a VLAN interface
only.
You can define pmi and pmi6
simultaneously on the
Gateway, but only on the
same VLAN interface
