Description
Enter the FastEthernet interface context
Change the encapsulation to PPPoE
Configure an IP address and subnet
mask for the interface
Obtain an IP address via PPP/IPCP
negotiation
Enable PPP keepalive, in order to
maintain a persistent connection
Bind interface status to an object tracker
to check whether the interface is up
Set the interface's MTU to 1492, which
ensures that overall packet size for the
PPPoE interface does not exceed 1500,
which is the MTU for Ethernet
Override the device hostname for PPP
CHAP authentication
Set the CHAP password for
authentication with a remote peer
Prevent the device from authenticating
with CHAP after the device is requested
by the remote peer
Enable or disable requesting the list of
available DNS servers from the remote
peer during the PPP/IPCP session
Prevent the device from authenticating
with PAP after the device is requested
by the remote peer
Set the Password Authentication
Protocol (PAP) password for
authentication with the remote peer
Set the maximum time, in seconds, that
PPP allows for negotiation of a network
layer protocol
Set the maximum time to wait for a
response during PPP negotiation
