Before running this test, the jitter stress elements such as RJ
STRJ , ISI, and STDJ

test signal, these jitter sources are tested over a range to achieve the
maximum values that are defined in the specification. For this test, the
DUT receives a CJTPAT pattern with sufficient levels of DJ and RJ and sent
through the ISI test channel to meet the specified TJ
Jitter is the jitter value at the DUT Rx pins, including the jitter coming from
the ISI Trace and is calculated as follows:
For HS-G1 and HS G2:
• The STDJ is made of ISI from the trace and STSJ to a total of 0.2 UI,
that is, STSJ = 0.2 - Calibrated ISI.
• STTJ = STDJ + STRJ = 0.30 UI -> STRJ = 0.30 UI - 0.2 UI -> STRJ = 0.1
UI.
• DJ = STDJ + LFSJ = 0.35 UI -> LFSJ = 0.35 UI - 0.2 UI -> LFSJ = 0.15
UI.
• TJ = DJ + RJ = 0.52 -> RJ = 0.52 UI - 0.35 UI = 0.17 UI.
For HS-G3:
• The STDJ is made of ISI from the trace and STSJ to a total of 0.2 UI,
that is, STSJ = 0.2 - Calibrated ISI.
• DJ = STDJ + LFSJ = 0.35 UI -> LFSJ = 0.35 UI - 0.2 UI -> LFSJ = 0.15
UI.
• For CH-G3 case, the low frequency RJ component is eliminating, so
that the entire TJ budget is allotted to wideband RJ, above 10MH:
TJ = DJ + RJ = 0.52 -> RJ = 0.52 UI - 0.35 UI = 0.17 UI? RJ = STRJ = 0.17

• Accordingly, the STTJ is greater than for HS-G1 and HS-G2:
STTJ = STDJ + RJ = 0.2 UI + 0.17 UI = 0.37 UI
From these values and using the Eye Opening calibration with jitter to
adjust the LFSJ if necessary, the resulting eye width is within +/- 5% of the
conformance value (520mV). Then, the same calibration is used to set the
eye height according to the specification (43mV for Gear 1 and 2; 45mV for
Gear 3 and Gear 4).
For spec 3.1, this test shall be performed with a Frequency Offset of +2000
for B-series rate and -2000 ppm for A-series rate according to the nominal
bit rate for the gear and data rate. For spec 4.1, this test is only mandatory
for B-series (for A-series, the procedure is shown in the test tree as
