Mitel 6800 Series SIP Phone Release 4.2.0 Administrator Guide
When a line is seized and a number is dialed or when a Speeddial key is pressed, if the phone
is unlocked, the number is matched against the local dial plan. If it matches the dial plan, the
call will go through. If the number does not match the dial plan, the call will be blocked.
Notes:
1. If the phone is locked, dialed numbers are matched against the emergency dial plan.
For more information on configuring a local dial plan, see
page 14.
2. When the live dialpad feature is enabled and a user dials a number using a Speeddial
key, the whole string is examined against the dial plan. The speeddial number will
only be dialed if the number matches the rules of the dial plan exactly (i.e. if the
speeddial is an exact match, the call will go through; if the speeddial number is a
candidate for a match but has less or more digits than the defined dial plan, the call
will be blocked. For example, if the dial plan is defined as "9XXXX" and the speeddial
number is "91234", the call will go through. If the speeddial number is "9123" or
"912345", the call will be blocked as the speeddial number does not contain 5 digits.
PREFIX DIALING
The IP phones support a prefix dialing feature for outgoing calls. You can manually dial a number
or dial a number from a list. The phone automatically maps the pre-configured prepended digit
in the configuration, to the outgoing number. When a match is found, the prepended digits are
added to the beginning of the dial string and the call is dialed.
Note: The prepend digits are also added if the dialing times-out on a partial match.
You can enable this feature by adding a prepend digit(s) to the end of the Local Dial Plan
parameter string in the configuration files or the Mitel Web UI at
Basic Settings->Preferences->General.
For example, if you add a prepend map of "[2-9]XXXXXXXXX,91", the IP phone adds the digits
"91" to any 10-digit number beginning with any digit from 2 to 9 that is dialed out. Other
examples of prepend mappings are:
1X+#,9 (Prepends "9" to any digit string beginning with "1" and terminated with "#".)
6XXX,579 (Prepends "579" to any 4-digit string starting with "6".)
[4-6]XXXXXX,78 (Prepends "78" to any 7-digit string starting with "4", "5", or "6".)
Note: You can configure a local dial plan via the configuration files or the Mitel Web UI.
Example:
If you enter the following dial string for a local dial plan:
sip dial plan: 1+#,9
where "9" is the prepended digit, and you dial the following number:
15551212
5-69
"Emergency Dial Plan"
